A Miracle

Here is the first card for my new term on the SO Sketchy design team!! I really liked this sketch Ally gave us, its really fun and enabled me to "create out of the box." Check out the quote on this card: "Everyday holds the possibility of a miracle." Well, this is as true as any quote can get, and we expereinced it yesterday firsthand.

Card supplies: Stamps: Unity Stamp Co: June 09 KOM. Papers: PTI White, American Crafts Black, DCWV Garden Party designer paper. Ink: Memento- Tangelo. Accessories: foofala buttons, white thread, felt flowers, dimensionals.

AMERICANA

So, I got in a festive Americana mood and came up with this card. Its another no-layer card, which I seem to be making alot of lately. This is the new Unity kit called: Unity in America. It is an exclusive kit, sold only at Memory Making Crafts, and its a must for anyone who has military in their families or friends, yet, versatile enough to make everyday cards, as well as cards to support our troops. The white paper is from PTI (Papertreyink) and I used their awesome tutorial on how to emboss the frame on the card front with Nestabilities. (Now I do it all the time) :-) Ribbon is from Walmart and I also used stickles on the heart. Ink is Memento and I sponged the insdie of the frame with Desert Sands.

Thanks for stopping by, have a great day!!

BEE-lieve in Yourself

I finally got to make a BEE card!! This is about as close as you'll ever see me get to a bee, I avoid them at all costs, since I am allergic. I do like crafting with these little buggers' images though. I have had this adorable set from Unity Stamp Co, called Everyday Adorable out on my desk for a bit, and the cute little bee was wishing to make it to paper. And now, she finally did! I just love the way the white and black look together, with just a small splash of color. I followed Julee's sketch for Mojo Monday (Sketch #88) for the layout of this card. Card Supplies: Stamps: Unity Stamp Co- Everyday Adorable. Papers: PTI White, American Crafts- Black Textured, SU- Summer Sun, and Basic Grey- Urban Prairie DSP. Ink: Memento- Black and Dandelion & Sumemr Sky for sponging. Accessories: Shimmerz (although the picture does not show them well), Hero Arts Silver pearls, Nesties Scalloped circles die, and stitched ribbon from Michaels. Thanks for stopping by, have a wonderful day!!

Sweet Smiles

WOW, I must have got my scrappin' mojo back or something. I have been working on pages all week, and moving right along in Amanda's baby book. It might also have something to do with a SUPER cool sketch site I recently found, called 52 Sketches 52 Weeks. They are AWESOME!! If you need scrappy inspiration....head there....NOW!!! :-)
This layout uses Sketch #3 from 52 Sketches. The only thing I changed on the sketch, was adding another row of photos since I captured soooo many "Sweet Smiles." I couldn't decide which ones not to scrap, so they all made it, for now. Above, you will see the details of the Sassafrass letters (sunshine lollipop), which I painted the outlines of with Marigold Shimmerz, and the Dragonflies from the Unity Stamp Co May KOM, also painted with Marigold Shimmerz and popped up on dimensionals.

Here is a close-up of the Fancy Pants transparency frame. I just love the way these flourishes extend from the frame. On the top of the page you will see "you light up my life" stamped- that also comes from the Unity Stamp Co May KOM. The word "Sweet" stamped at the bottom of the page is also from the May KOM.

Thanks so much for stopping by, have a great day!!

Page supplies: Stamps: Unity Stamp Co- May 09 Kit of the Month. Papers: SU- Friends & Flowers Kit, Celery and PTI- White. Ink: Memento. Accessories: Fancy Pants transparent frame overlay (doodles), Sassafrass letters (sunshine lollipop), Shimmerz- Marigold, Hero Arts- Silver pearls. Distressing layers.

HHH...Happy...

HAPPY HIP HOP HANGOVER DAY!!!
What's a scrapbook page without some UNITY?
I stumbled upon an amazing site called 52 Sketches 52 Weeks the other day, and I just absolutely love the sketches and friendly community there. This page is created from Sketch #6. I think the sketches on this site will really help me jump-start this baby book for Amanda, again and maybe I'll actually catch up...after all I'm only about 4 years behind. LOL.
Papers: SU Friends & Flowers kit, Chocolate Chip, So Saffron. PTI- White.
Ink: Memento.
Accessories: Sassafrass letter stickers (poket full of rosies), Hero Arts pearls, White Signo gel pen, Shimmerz (on butterflies). I distressed around all the edges as well.
Thanks for stopping by, enjoy your Friday.

**Scrapbooking Adventures** My Sleeping Baby

I am working on Amanda's baby book again...and this time I came across some really adorable photos of her when she was only a few weeks to a month old. She is sleeping soundly in most of them, so I decided to scrap about how peaceful she looks while sleeping. To this day, and she is almost 4 now, I still find that I have to just sit and watch her sleep in the middle of the night. I have a feeling I will be doing this for quite a LONG time....

Above, is a detailed close up of the page elements. Here is what I used for this page: Stamps: Unity Stamp Co- July 2008 KOM, Mix Up of Cuteness and Journaling Block- (Scalloped Details & Dates). Papers: Colormates- Medium Terrific Teal, We R Memory Keepers- Nonsense DSP, Rainbow DSP, Papertreyink- White. Ink: Memento. Accessories: Cosmo Cricket- Honey Pie Rub-ons, American Crafts-Thickers letters, corner rounder punch and I distressed the edges of the DSP layer. Thanks so much for stopping by, hopefully I will have more scrapbook pages to share in the near future. HOPEFULLY.........Have a WONDERFUL day.

This is also my FIRST post for Unity's Hip Hop HaNgOvEr. Today's HHH theme is OUR HERO's, being that Memorial Day is right around the corner. My hero is the man whose picture you see below. That is my darling husband, Eric. He is my hero and my rock. I would not, and could not, be where I am today, without him. He is my BEST FRIEND. He is the most WONDERFUL father to our child. I honor him today because he is the most friendly, caring, funny, generous and responsible person I know. He also does his best as a police officer to protect the public and natural resources entrusted to him in the NJ State Park Service. I am extremely proud of him. AND...I LOVE him with all of my heart.

Card supplies: Stamps: Unity Stamp Co- May KOM. Papers: PTI White, Stampin Up- Turquoise, YoYo Yellow. Designer Paper: DCWV- Rainbow stack (glittered paper- soooo awesome). Ink: Memento- Black and Tangelo for sponging. Accessories: Copics for coloring the images, Scallop border punch.
