Unity Challenge Day

Hello, its Unity Challenge Day and I am the host this week!!! My challenge to everyone was to make a "Get Well" card, since, well, I wasn't feeling to great last week, and because it seems we always have someone in our life that is sick or needs a pick-me-up. So this challenge is dedicated to them!!!

Supplies used on this card: Stamps: Unity Stamp Co- Lovebirdies and Floral Fantastical. Paper: PTI- Summer Sunrise, New Leaf, Pure Poppy, White and Spring Rain. The Designer paper is from the DCWV Green Stack. I used Memento Inks and the Argyle Cuttlebug embossing folder.

Another Owl-y card...

Here is a cute Owl-y card I made over the weekend for Virtual Stamp Night over on Splitcoast. This was for Challenge FEB09VSNQ. Kim was the host of this challenge, and asked us to: make a card for someone that means a lot to you. Your hubby, your boyfriend, your BFF....BUT....there is a twist!!! You may NOT use the colors pink, red, or white and NO HEARTS!!! Ok, so my owl has hearts on his chest, but they are so small, they even could pass for cute feathers. lol.
Papers: PTI White, SU Wasabi, Chocolate Chip and DCWV The Green Stack DSP.
Ink: Memento- Black and Bamboo Leaves
Stamps: Unity Stamp Co- Be Owl Mine
Accessories: Copics, Shimmerz, Green Rhinestones
Thanks for stopping by, HAPPY STAMPING!!!

LOVE LOVE LOVE the new Unity Kit of the Month

I absolutely ADORE all the cute images found in the February Kit of the Month by Unity Stamp Co. You just have to check it out. Every month, the images just keep getting better and bettter. This months stamps are HUGE, which means they are good for both cardmaking and scrapbook pages!! This adorable mushroom house is one of the stamps you will find in the February Kit of the Month.
Being that Virtual Stamp Night was this weekend, this card is for Challenge FEB09VSND. Paula hosted this challenge, and she wanted us to: make a card using the new things you love! Everything on the card (except the cardstock and ink) should be new within the past two months or something you've been hoarding that you've never used before.
So, I used my NEW Kit of the Month stamps from Unity, NEW Die Cuts With a View Designer Paper -The Green Stack and two NEW shades of PTI cardstock: New Leaf and Summer Sunrise.
I also used PTI Ocean Tides, Pure Poppy and White cardstocks, May Arts Satin ribbon and Black Memento ink.
Thanks for stopping by, have a wonderful day!!

Feeling Spring-y

Here's my attempt at trying to think Spring. I am soooooo sick of Winter, and this one has outstayed its welcome. lol. So, hopefully with some more wishful thinking, the weather will start to turn, and soon. We had a nice little taste last week, it reached about 62!! Unheard of for February in NJ.
I used two challenges while making this card. Splitcoast Sketch Challenge 201 (SC201) and Virtual Stamp Night (VSN) was this weekend, so this is Challenge FEB09VSNC. Kandi was the host for this particular challenge, and she asked us to: "take a stamp set you don’t like, and incorporate it into a lovely, luscious card. You know those stamp sets - the ones you thought "Why in the world did I buy this?", or images you like but haven't been able to make work on a card." This is one of those images that I love, however, I always have trouble making it "work" on a card. Hopefully it works here. lol.
This card uses: PTI Aqua Mist, Lemon Tart and Stampin Up Wasabi paper. It also uses Martha Stewart DSP. The stamped image comes from Unity Stamp Co, and is called: Slim Vase. I used Stampin Up markers to color the stamped image and rhinestones for the flower centers. May Arts ribbon was tied around the card.
Thanks for stopping by, have a wonderful day.

More Valentines Cards....

Here are the really quick Valentine's cards Amanda and I put together for her teachers. She wanted the cards to have owls on them, and I thought to myself...I have the most perfect Unity Stamp for that!! lol. We used the Be Owl Mine kit for these cards.

We also used the following: PTI White, and Pure Poppy, American Crafts Black, and DCWV Designer Paper- The Green Stack. We used nestabilities ovals and painted around the edge of the larger oval with Shimmerz paint. The hearts on the owl, as well as around his eyes are also painted with Shimmerz. We used Copics to color the owl and the word Valentine is stamped in Ladybug Memento ink. Of course we had to use googlie eyes on these cute creatures. Thanks for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!

Happy V-Day... You Make my Heart go Boom

This is hunny's valentine card. I **hope** he likes it, even though it is **very pink and sparkly** :) I had so much fun making this card, and spending alot of time on the little details. I am soooooo loving this "Boom Goes My Heart" stamp from Unity Stamp Co. Isn't it sooooooo adorable??
Here is a close up of the cute turtles, which I painted with Shimmerz paints. The Boom heart was stamped on a separate sheet of PTI white cardstock, decorated with shimmerz and sponging, and then popped up with dimensionals.

And, what card is not complete without the inside decorated as well?? Here is what the inside looks like. I ran a strip of the "Sweet" designer glitter paper by DCWV along the bottom, a layer of regal rose for the writing space, and the scallop border is SU pink pirouette. I stamped the "I {heart} U" stamp from Unity Stamp Co's Love Grows kit.
Supplies used: Papers: PTI White, SU Regal Rose, Pink Pirouette, DCWV Glitter Stack- "Sweet"
Ink: Memento Black, Angel Pink and Rose Bud
Stamps: Unity Stamp Co- My Heart Goes Boom, and Love Grows (sentiments)
Accessories: Shimmerz paints, SU Scallop border punch, dimensionals, Martha Stewart bling

Whateva....

So... here is a card that just rings so true to the way things have been going lately, and I'm just like....."WHATEVA!!" hahaha. I just love that stamp from Unity Stamp Co. For this card, I used SCS Sketch Challenge 213 (SC213) and Color Challenge 203 (CC 203) as my inspiration. The color challenge required the use of the colors: Garden Green, Baja Breeze and Pacific Point, just perfect...as its one of my favorite color combos!! The butterfly, and flourish inside the card come from the Unity Stamp Co. December Kit of the Month.
Here is a close-up of the front of the card. WHATEVA is stamped in Bahama Blue Memento ink and glittered with Martha Stewart glitter. The butterfly is stamped in Cottage Ivy Memento ink and then painted with December Sky Shimmerz, and popped up on dimensionals. The flourish on the inside of the card is stamped in Bahama Blue Memento ink as well.

Thanks for stopping by, have a wonderful day!!

My non-traditional Valentine...BE MINE

Unity Stamp Co has so many adorable Valentine's sets out right now. I just got some in the mail last week, so I just HAD to try them out right away. I just didnt want to go the traditional pink, red, white theme, so I went a little springy themed here. Probably because I am SOOOO sick of winter....come on spring.
So, for this card, I used PTI Aqua Mist, Lemon Tart and White for the card base and layers. The DSP is from a pack of Martha Stewart papers. I used the cuttlebug flower border embossing folder on the yellow layers. The stamped images are from the Unity Stamp Co kit called Be Owl Mine. The images are stamped with black Memento ink and colored with colored pencils. The flower petals on both flowers are then painted with Buttercream Shimmerz (see close up below). The edges of the white layers are inked with dandelion Memento ink. Two little loops of PTI ribbon (Lemon Tart and Aqua Mist) peek out from the white card layer.
Here is a peek at the inside of the card. Simple white layer, inked around the edges with Dandelion Memento ink. The yellow layer was run through the cuttlebug with the flower border embossing folder. The stamped image also comes from the Unity Stamp Co, Be Owl Mine kit. Which is SOOOOO Super-adorable.
So, there you have it. I have been having fun decorating the insides of my cards lately. It seems to be a growing trend in the cardmaking world, and I definitely feel it gives our cards an added special touch. Take care and HAPPY STAMPING!!!

HI...(I'm slowly coming back)

Hello friends. It's been a rough few weeks, you know how life just gets in the way sometimes?? I havent been able to create much, but, I'm happy to say I'm coming back slowly, and I have a bunch of cards to share this week. :) I am hoping that I can keep the mojo flowing...

This card is created from Julee's Mojo Monday Sketch # 70. Check out the Mojo Monday blog for a great sketch every monday, not to mention some great inspiration as well.

I used PTI Kraft, Aqua Mist and Pure Poppy on this card, as well as an American Crafts Black layer. The DSP is Basic Grey-Urban Prairie. (I LOVE this paper!!!) I embellished the DSP with some red stickles, and I also used some black rhinestones.

The stamped images are from Unity Stamp Co's December Kit of the Month and Floral Fantastical. The stamped butterflies are painted with Red and December Sky Shimmerz, and popped up on dimensionals.

Thanks for stopping by, HAPPY STAMPING!!
