Painted Birthday Wishes

Here's a challenge- use paint on your cards. That is our theme at Paper Maniac this week. And, I must admit, at first, I didn't quite know what I wanted to do for a card- as I really dont use paint on my projects all that much!
Then, I got to thinking- I have a bunch of acrylic paints in different colors, I have smooch paints (which are totally cool) and I just got Tim Holtz CRACKLE paint!! So, yeah, I just had to use the Crackle paint. Have you seen it? It makes some awesome effects on stamped projects.
I knew right away that I had to use it with this huge rose stamp from Papertrey ink. See the close up below- the crackle paint makes it look all crystally and wet, like fresh rain.
I stamped the rose image on some Echo Park Summertime pattern paper (can you see the pretty design on the rose?) Then I highlighted the petals with a coordinating copic marker. Then I painted over the entire image with the crackle paint. (This paint takes a few minutes to dry, so don't adhere it to your card right away. The wait is worth the finished look).

The leaves are stamped on Neenah solar white paper and colored with copic markers.

Thanks so much for stopping by!! Check out the Paper Maniac BLOG for some more inspiring painted works of art this week!
